We are a small company creating soaps the old-fashioned way - by hand. Each soap we make is made from scratch - this allows us to know exactly what is in the soap. At this time we sell only in Canada and are unable to accept international orders.
We use three (3) different methods to make our soaps:
Cold Process This is the process we use to create the basics for all our soaps. We combine Lye with Food Quality Oils which saponify into soap. Saponification is basically where the lye eats the oils and then transforms into soap and glycerin. This does not create detergents which is what is so drying in commercial soap and is created by using oil by-products.
Hand-Milled Soaps With this method we take some of the Cold Process soap, grate it and then re-work it into a soap than can have delicate things such as flowers added. A hand-milled bar of soap is lighter than Cold Process soap.
Whipped Soaps In this method we use our Hand-Milled soap, melt it down and then whip it like butter to create an amazingly smooth soap. Just before we pour the soap into the mold we add our herbs, spices or botanicals allowing the delicate scents to flow through.
We use Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Canola Oil, Sunflower Oil as well as other food oils. We will not use Palm Oil due to the harm that is being done to the Rain Forests in Indonesia and Borneo. We believe in responsible farming practices where man & nature can co-exist.
